Robert H. Lorsch,
Founder 1950-2017

Robert H. “Bob” Lorsch was a Los Angeles entrepreneur, producer, and philanthropist. For over 20 years, Mr. Lorsch headed the Lorsch Creative Network, which blended marketing, advertising and interactive sales promotions for clients that included the ABC, CBS and NBC television networks, Campbell Soup Company, Procter and Gamble, Taco Bell, McDonalds and others. He was known for branding and selling over 100 million “Wuppies”. In 1994, he founded a pre-paid calling card company, SmarTalk TeleServices, Inc. SmarTalk went public in 1996. Mr. Lorsch is featured in numerous books, including The Millionaire zone, The Engine of America, and Bararians Led by Bill Gates.

Kira is a Daytime Emmy® nominated actress and Emmy® winning producer who has worked in front of and behind the camera for over twenty-five years. After graduating UCLA’s School of Theatre Film and Television, she enjoyed a prolific on-camera career including feature films, guest spots on major networks, and a ten-year gig as a reporter/producer for Playboy. Her work with the bunny led her to hosting, writing, and producing for E, Eleventh Day Entertainment and Associated Television International. She now develops and produces projects with The RHL Group’s entertainment division. Kira can currently be seen as “Ellen” in Rumors and the feature films Acts of Desperation and Beckman. The RHL Group produced, in association with Pure Flix and Universal Pictures Home Entertainment, the action feature Beckman with Kira starring alongside David A. R. White and Billy Baldwin. Kira stars in and serves as an executive producer on the horror film Witches of Amityville Academy in partnership with London’s Proportion Productions. 

The drama series Rumors, with Kira as “Ellen”, Hollywood acting teacher to Gen Z, is now streaming on Prime Video.

Bob Lorsch was a Member of the Board and of the Executive Committee of D.A.R.E. America and the Sheriff’s Youth Foundation. Bob has received numerous honors including D.A.R.E. America’s “Future of America Award”, Muscular Dystrophy Association’s “Humanitarian of the Year Award”, Starlight Children’s Foundation’s “Golden Wish Award” and Wildlife WayStation’s “Paws of Fame Humanitarian Award”. For his public spirit, Mr. Lorsch was awarded the prestigious “C” Flag Private Sector Initiative from the White House during the Reagan Administration for his work in raising millions of dollars for financing state and local earthquake preparedness education. His efforts for the cause have also earned him recognition from the City and County of Los Angeles, the State of California and (FEMA).
Kira works closely with The Robert H. Lorsch Foundation and was excited to honor Hugh M. Hefner for a lifetime of philanthropy at the Thalians 55th Gala benefiting mental health programs for the wounded heroes of UCLA Operation Mend. Kira became a board member, and along with Bob, chaired the Gala honoring Smokey Robinson to great success. Following the passing of Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher, Kira was elected president and The Thalians continue to focus on mental health and wellness programs for military men and women and their families. Kira has also served as a member of the Board of Trustees of California Science Center home of the Lorsch Family Pavilion and Board of Governors (BOG) of Cedars-Sinai Medical CenterShe contributes to Shelter Hope Pet Shop, Television Academy Foundation and Academy Museum Foundation.
